After booking a festival with my girlfriend we decided that we’d pay that little bit extra and get a tent that we were going to love and use over and over again. We liked the idea of a bell tent but due to their weight and price we didn’t think it would be a option until we stumbled upon this little beauty! Amazing price, brilliant quality, easy to put up and pack away and only weighed 14kg compared with the more traditional bell tents which weigh in at around 55kg. A huge thing to consider if you’re going to be walking a fair distance with it (which we ended up having to). Was a little bit sceptical when looking at it online cause I didn’t know if it would loose quality being made of a different material but we absolutely love it and now in many ways prefer it to the traditional bell tents. Really made the difference to our weekend and have now booked in more camping trips this year. Also brilliant service from the Canvas Tent Shop and was with us the next day! 5 stars all round!

Absolutely love my new tent. I used it for the first time a few days ago. I wanted a tent that I could stand up in, looked lovely, had lots of space and most importantly, easy to put up. This ticked all the boxes. Friends offered to help me put the tent up, but no thank you kindly, I wanted to do it myself ? … it was so straight forward, quick and easy, and the same to take down and pack away. The Bell tent Lite is packed with the groundsheet (which is a khaki/green) visible on first opening the bag, so it may be the case this has caused some confusion?

Disappointing quality and questionable pricing tactics
I was really disappointed with this tent. While it is lightweight, that shouldn’t mean poor quality — but that’s exactly what it feels like. The groundsheet doesn’t seem to be fully waterproof, and the stitching, zips, and central pole all feel like low-budget components.
Also, be wary of the pricing. It’s advertised as being “on sale”, but this seems to be a permanent discount. That kind of pricing tactic feels misleading.

Fantastic bell tent, poor treatment, and abysmal groundsheet.
You’d expect a ground sheet to be robust, thick, waterproof. This is the same material used on side of standard modern tents… As a ground sheet? A wet day of the bell tent being up and it soaked through the fabric and into the bottom of our sleeping mattress. POOR POOR planning on canvas tent shop tbh. You put your name on it then make it worth while designing. How would you think a fabric ground sheet is a good idea? Currently drying everything out… Even our footprint sheet (which should be what the ground sheet SHOULD of been made of in the first place!).
